Verrucae & Wart Removal
Warts are caused by viruses and are generally benign. Appearing as
skin growths and commonly found on the hands or feet.
They are extremely contagious because the skin cells that have been infected will give off the viruses.
The most common types of wart are: mosaic, plantar (verrucae), filiform, plane, common and periungual.
Veruccae appear only on feet. They are different to warts in that they are flat with hard edges and you can tell if it's a verruca because they have a small black dot in the centre. They are usually sore when touched. Verrucae are extremely contagious and are often transmitted in swimming pools because the floor are wet and everyone tends to walk about in bare feet.
We can safely and effectively treat both warts and verrucae with our Nd:YAG laser and it is recognised as the most successful treatment of warts and verrucae on the market. Deep, pulse-profile heating of the verruca or wart with the 1064nm Nd:YAG laser destroys the verruca cells by targeting the blood supply to the verruca or wart. Research has shown that it also destroys the virus that causes the verruca in the first place.
The treatments are safe and effective, removing the wart or verruca and leaving the skin and surrounding tissues unharmed and intact. When the verruca or wart is successfully treated it will fall off and leave normal skin in its place.
